In 2023 I received an email that I almost deleted because I thought, it was too good to be true. However, something in me decided to respond. The worst that could happen was that it was just a bogus email.
To my surprise, it was an email from Texas Country Reporter, also commonly known as TCR. A man named Quinten with TCR responded to me fairly quickly regarding potentially featuring my story as a West Texas Photographer. Quinten scheduled a call with me and we undoubtedly hit it off! Quinten felt that my story behind bringing joy to others and utilizing the West Texas Landscape consecutively would work great. Especially my Monahans Sandhills Photography! He informed me that they were covering all Texas State Parks for their 100th year celebration and they wanted to use my story for the Monahans Sandhills segment. This is a Texas State Park that I visit frequently to photograph.

About the Feature : Monahans Sandhills Photography
Whenever it was confirmed that TCR would be interviewing me, Quinten asked if I knew of a couple that would be up for modeling. Straightaway I thought of a couple I photographed a few months earlier in Marfa, TX. I knew that they were perfect for this project! Kareece originally told me that they were awkward and would ‘need guidance’ through their session but it turned out that they were not awkward at all. Tim and Kareece were naturals!
When I reached out to Kareece, she responded that they were definitely interested and would get back with me soon. Eventually, Kareece let me know that it was a go for them. As things were starting to come together, I was getting more excited for the opportunity to work with them again.
On the day of, the Austin, TX couple and TCR both met me bright and early in the Sandhills to beat the West Texas heat. When the sun came up it certainly turned out to be a beautiful morning and an amazing opportunity!
Where to Find the Episode
You can find more information about TCR and the episode (Season 52, Episode 15) by visiting their website here. A big thank you to TCR, Quinten, and Tim and Kareece. I do believe that was my best Monahans Sandhills photography session to date! All things considered, I am certain this season of TCR will be a success!
